News is news.

Re: rizzn's personal blog

"Washington, DC Commentator for Technosailor.com?" I hope that's not what I'm best known for.

Re: rizzn's personal blog

I read what you wrote, sounded innocuous to me.

Re: rizzn's personal blog

That whole schpiel was stupid in my opinion. Profy is a well-known website and, everyone left at once. that is news! Period. No questions about that. Awhile ago, three friends of mine and I worked at a company. All four of us left the same day...the community that surrounded the company *demanded* to know what was going on and what happened. Any way you put it when high profile people leave a place at once...it is news and, the community surrounding it wants to know why. The outcry about that and, how people reacted was complete bs if you ask me. You said your piece, your post was done well. You promoted each person leaving and, never insulted anyone. The way people reacted sounded like butt hurt drama to me.

Re: rizzn's personal blog

Bottom line, it's getting to be a crappy business. It's being taken over corp comm types, and fluff bloggers that essentially repeat ad nauseum other stories. Then you have the "obvious story bloggers" that post on highly technical subjects that they are all of 5 minutes acquainted.

Re: rizzn's personal blog

That's the sort of question I hoped would get asked when I originally posted the piece. There is a lot of shakeup and shakeout going on in our corner of the blogoverse. Weblogs cutting or screwing with budgets... Gawker continuing to adjust payouts and bonuses, and Profy making a significant change in pay structure that causes the staff to leave.

There's stuff afoot, and given that it concerns bloggers, I figured that'd be a bit higher on the list of priorities to bitch about rather than who I called, when, where and how.

Re: rizzn's personal blog

I dont get it Rizz - you reported a story on the blogging industry that is current, and timely. There are several bits flying about blogger compensation (the Gawker shakeout), so I dont get why you are getting shit from these people?

One honest, hard working man always gets screwed by those with the most to lose.

Re: rizzn's personal blog

Go, man, go !

Stand up, don't flag in your determination, strive to expose the truth !!

The wobbly divide between bloggers and journalists is melting from the heat of actuality.

Stride on with the confidence of what spawns your anger !!!

~ Alex
